Can I use the same cat5 cable for video, 24VAC and also RS-422 simultaneously Answered by: Greg
If you are using the twisted pair video converters it is fine to have all 3 of those in the same jacket. However I do not recommend that you run the 24VAC over the CAT 5 the CAT 5 cable is only 24 Gage. That is not enough copper for carrying the amperage needed to power the cameras. But the Data and Video would just fine just run a separate 18/2 for the power. Hope this helps, Jason

what is the best formula to enable me to select the correct lens for the camera to achive the best picture at specific distance for the target? Answered by: Greg
Out in the field the best way if probley with a lens calculator. Other wise here is a link to the calculator we have on our web site. http://www.vsscctv.com/LensCalc.asp If your are in a pinch you can give it an educated guess with this formula. If you are using 1/3" cameras and a 4mm lens it will give you a 1 to 1 field of view. exp: (20' out 20' wide). Then you can just adjust accordingly 1/3" camera 8mm lens (20' out 10' wide) If you have any questions please let us know. Thank you!!

I was reading your troubleshooting page and you make refernce to a dark filter when adjusting a camera. Do you carry this device and could it be used when adjusting an auto iris lens so it will evenly accomodate different lighting. thank you Answered by: Greg
Try a piece of welders glass or a pair of dark sunglasses in a pinch. The best time to use the filter is when you are adjusting an Auto Iris Lens. This will keep it from going out of focus when it is dark. If you have any other questions please let us know. Thank you!

Why do I have a black horizontal line through my picture? Answered by: Greg
You are picking up a ground loop. You need to isolate your coax cables from all high voltage wires. You can also use a Ground loop isolation transformer or use UTP transmitters and receivers.

Can I split my video signal with a BNC-T connector? Answered by: Greg
